burnout

BURNOUT. It’s an all too common occurrence in the corporate world. It happens as an entrepreneur as well, but I find it’s less intense given you don’t have a boss or a board telling you to work even harder.

A few years back, I went through a period of burnout. Perhaps it was more than a period as it seemed to be never ending. Not only was my work life extremely busy with many projects on the go and I was always on a plane, but my personal life was extremely exhausting too. I always felt like I had no time to do anything yet sometimes I double, even triple, booked myself.

What box are you checking off right now?

My to do list kept getting longer as there was no time to knock off the items on it. Clean the house, get an oil change, call the doctor, visit family, go to the dentist, go to the workout class, play soccer, play floor hockey, call the cable company because they overcharged, call the airline because my points weren’t added from my last flight, pay my bills, book a car service to the airport, book the hotel, the flight, the car rental (and then do the expenses for all of this, ugh). Just writing that feels like it took an entire week to do.

Burnout…

Sometimes we don’t even realize we’re burning out until it’s too late. Catching ourselves at the beginning, or even recognizing it before it gets to the point is key. I once heard, it’s like wandering into a forest, the deeper into the forest you get, the harder it is to find your way back. And that couldn’t be more true of burnout.

I’ve been there. I get it. And I’m here to help. It’s why I created the Concierge business that I did. To help people with the everyday overwhelm that leads to burnout.

Balance…
